Description
Electrogrip offers a total electrical safety range. It also offers FRP mast. Made with Fibre Reinforced Plastic, this mast comes with a length of 2 meters and a diameter of 55 mm. Due to its non-conductive property, it prevents the surge current to flow from the lightning arrester to the GI mast and saves the building from electrical hazards. After fixing the GI mast, this non-conductive mast along with a lightning arrester is installed inside the GI mast. Whenever a clap of lightning strikes the lightning arrester, the surge current directly flows to the ground via the ground wire to the earthing system and ends up on the earth.

Material details of FRP mast:
As per the name, this mast is made of FRP or Fibre Reinforced Plastic, which is also called Fibre Reinforced Polymer. It is a composite material, they make this of the polymer matrix and reinforced with fibre. This mast offers great strength along with longevity. It is a non-conductive element, which does not allow any kind of flow of electricity.
Working principle:
This mast is used as a non-conductive material of a lightning arrester system. It prevents the current to flow from lightning arrester to the GI mast. As both the lightning arrester and the GI mast have conductive material, the surge current from lightning can pass through them to the building and would cause electrical or fire hazards. To avoid this accidental scenario, FRP mast is used.
Installation:
As a part of the lightning safety system, FRP mast is installed at the top of a building or tower. After installing the GI mast with the surface, FRP mast is fixed within the GI mast along with the lightning arrestor.
