Description

GI Earthing Electrode as a Chemical Earthing System

GI earthing electrodes are one of the chemical earthing system products of Electrogrip. The primary material that is used to manufacture this product is galvanized iron. The length of the GI earthing electrode can be 2 meters or 3 meters and there are a lot of options for the diameter of the electrode such as 40mm, 50mm, 60mm, 80mm, 100mm and 110mm. As it is a galvanised iron rod there is a zinc coating of up to 100 microns as per your requirements and also the coating slows down the corrosion process and can work properly for around 6-7 years. The structure consists of two gi pipes and a plate and the gap is filled with a special kind of conductive chemical.

Measurements:

Advantages:

There are several advantages of using a GI or Galvanised Earthing Electrode,

  • The cost is less than the copper electrode.
  • The corrosion process is comparatively slower than a normal iron rod.
  • It lasts for more than 6-7 years.

Earth Enhancing Compound ( Electrogrip BFC )

The main motto of using earth enhancing compounds is to make the flow of leakage current quicker so that the leakage current can be grounded within no time. It enhances the resistivity of the soil. This earth enhancing material is also known as Electrogrip Back Fill Compound or BFC. You will also be provided with the backfill compound material details. Besides manufacturing earthing rods Electrogrip also sells ground enhancing chemicals as an advanced earthing system.

BFC is a white powder that is made from several conductive components such as  Aluminium, Calcium Oxide, Magnesium Oxide, Sodium Oxide, Sulphate, Carbon etc. With resistivity of only 0.24 ohm-m, it allows the leakage current to flow to the ground easily without any interruption. Its anti-corrosive property also helps the earthing rod or earthing electrode stay as it is for a long time and increases the life-span. It needs to be used by mixing with water. Do not pour water on it as it will form clots, stir well by pouring the powder into water.

Advantages:

Earth enhancing compound or BFC is one of the most popular earthing chemicals due to several advantages

  • Enhances the resistivity of the soil
  • Allows the leakage current to flow in a better way
  • Retain moisture to maintain a certain resistivity of the soil.
  • Anti-corrosive, which makes the longevity of the earthing product.

Earthing Pit Cover (EPC11)

Electrogrip is a one-stop destination for electrical safety products. You will find all earthing or grounding products here with high quality and performance. Earthing pit cover is one of the products that are manufactured by us. We design a plastic chemical earth pit cover made of polypropylene, which has a high melting point and is durable enough for usage. With a height of 11 inches or 260mm, earthing pit cover has a top diameter of 10.5 inches or 260mm and a bottom dia of 13.5 inches or 340mm, which is enough spacious for covering an earthing rod or earthing electrode. It protects the wiring part of the earthing system from any kind of natural hazards. It will also be easier to maintain the earthing system by just opening the earthing pit cover.
