Earth Pit Cover (EPC10)

Electrogrip also offers earthing pit cover or EPC10. Just like other earth pit covers, EPC10 is also used to cover the earthing system which stays above the ground. With a diameter of 250 mm EPC10 is 55 mm high, which makes it spacious enough to cover the connection portion of the earthing system above the ground. Polypropylene is the main material that is used here. The ductility of this material makes it perfect for the use of protection purposes. It is also capable of bearing a load of up to 8 tonnes. Being a non conducting piece there is no chance of any kind of electrical accidents caused by physical contact. It also makes the maintenance of the earthing system easier, you can just open it and do the needful.

Material details:

The main material that is used here is polypropylene, which is also known as polypropene. It is basically a thermoplastic polymer produced through chain-growth polymerization. It has a high melting point ranging from 160 degrees to 171 degrees Celsius (320 to 340 degree Fahrenheit), which makes it suitable to use as an earthing product. Polypropylene is non-reactive to non-oxidizing and as well as bases. So there is a very rare chance of participating in any reaction in the field of use. This is a ductile material along with high load-bearing capacity.

Working principle:

The earth pit cover or EPC10 is used to protect the connection part of the earthing system, which stays above the ground. We have built it with a factory-made hole, which provides the path to the grounding wire. Made with ductile material, EPC10 is capable of bearing a load of 34.12 kN. Due to its non-conductive property, it is safe from getting shocked by touching its body.

Installation of an Earth Pit Cover:

The main purpose of using an earthing pit cover is to cover the earthing rod or earthing electrode and protect the connection portion from outer damages. The connection portion stays above the ground and we cover it with the earth pit cover. We have built holes so that the grounding wire can pass through it. At the top, a green cover totally matches with the environment.

Advantages:

There are several advantages of earthing pit cover or EPC10

  • Compact size
  • Made of polypropylene
  • High melting point
  • Can withstand in extreme atmosphere
  • Can bear load up to 8 tonnes.
