Material details:
As per the name, the main component that is used is copper. A copper strip is placed inside a copper pipe, which has a diameter of 50mm or 80 mm and the hollow portion is being filled with a special type of chemical that is called a crystalline conductive mixture. To make the lifespan of the product more, copper is being used and it also works more efficiently than GI Earthing Electrode.
Working principle:
A Copper Earthing Electrode is a pipe filled up with a special kind of chemical filling, crystalline conductive mixture. There is a copper strip inside it with two holes at the top portion. We have sealed the upper portion and the holes are on the outer portion for a proper connection.
At the time of fault on an electrical circuit, the leakage current flows through the ground wire. When it reaches the copper strip, it gets distributed to the pipe with the help of crystalline conductive mixture afterwards to the copper pipe and lastly, the flow ends to the ground. In this way, Copper Earthing Electrode saves your valuable electrical devices and also your life from electrical hazards.
Installation:
The installation process is quite easy and also can be provided from our side on a chargeable basis. A standard hole of a dimension of 8 to 10 inch wide and the length of the hole should be less than approximately 2 inches of the electrode’s length needs to be created. The copper earthing electrode will be at the centre part of the hole and the rest will be filled up with earthing chemical compounds such as Electrogrip Back Fill Compound, Electrogrip Conductive gel, Electrogrip CEM or Electrogrip Carbo Gem. If you are unable to decide which chemical compound should be used we can also help you with that. All you need to provide is the type of soil in your area. Whether the soil is rocky or normal or moist or dry, depends on the soil type the proper chemical compounds are selected.
Advantages:
A copper earthing electrode has several benefits
- We all know that copper is a very good conductor.
- Due to its excellent conductive property, it allows more current to flow easily.
- As there is no corrosion issue, copper lasts longer.
- Copper earthing electrodes demands very less maintenance.
- The durability is also impressive.
