Prewelded copper bonded rod is another earthing product for electrical safety by Electrogrip. These rods are made of high tensile steel with a 250-micron copper coating. It can be of 2 or 3 meters with three different diameters of 17.2mm, 19mm and 21mm though the diameter of 17.2mm is considered as the standard one. The installation of this product is also easy and the same as other earthing products, for the best result use this earthing rod with ground enhancement earthing product such as BFC, Carbogem, Conductive Gel or CEM. For wiring connections a copper strip is already welded In this product and that is why it is named as pre pre-welded copper bonded rod, so there is no need for an additional clamp that is needed for a normal copper bonded rod.

Material details: 

The pre welded copper bonded rod is generally made with high tensile steel with a 250 micron of copper coating. This is a solid rod with a copper strip at the top with four holes on it, which is for connecting wires. This strip is pre-welded with the rod, so here no additional clamp is needed, unlike only copper bonded rod. It is available in two lengths of 2 meters and 3 meters just like a normal copper bonded rod. We can customise the diameter of 17.2mm, 19mm or 21mm, though the standard one is of 17.2mm. 

Working principle of Pre Welded Copper Bonded Rod: 

In order to reduce the cost, we use high tensile steel and to increase the conductivity it is coated with 250 microns of pure copper. We have sealed both the ends of the rod properly.

At the time of any electrical fault or short circuit on an electrical circuit, the leakage current flows through the ground wire. When it reaches the copper strip, it gets distributed to the rod and the flow ends to the ground. In this way, prewelded copper bonded rod saves your valuable electrical appliances and also your life from getting an electrical shock.

Installation: 

The installation of all earthing products is more or less similar to each other. one needs to dig a hole of approximately 8 to 10 inch wide and 1.8 or 2.8 meters deep. One can do the installation by following the mentioned steps. The copper bonded rod will be at the center part of the hole and the rest will be filled up with earthing chemical compounds such as BFC, conductive gel, CEM or carbo gem. Whether the soil is rocky or normal or moist or dry, depends on the soil type the proper chemical compounds are selected.
