Conductive Gel
The main purpose of using a conductive gel in spite of normal soil to fill up the earthing hole. With an excellent resistivity of 0.033 ohm-m, conductive gel by Electrogrip also maintains the moisture level of the soil. It can be used layer by layer with carbogen and back fill compounds for rocky and semi rocky places respectively. The materials that are used here are all good conductors of electricity. Due to its anti-corrosive property, it also degrades the process of corrosion of the earthing electrode or earthing rod.

Product Details:
Usage | Resistivity | Packaging type | Packaging size | Physical state | Testing |
To lower the earthing resistivity | 0.033 ohm-m | Woven sack bag | 11.36kg | Gel | IEC 62561-7
ASTM G57-06 IS 3043 |
Working principle:
Just like other ground enhancing compounds, the conductive gel also works the same way. It offers an earth resistivity of 33 ohm-m. If the resistivity of the soil is poor, the leakage current can not flow smoothly to the ground from the earthing rod or earthing electrode thus it becomes useless. So, in order to maintain a certain level of resistivity in the soil, we should use gel. Whenever the leakage current flows through the earthing electrode or earthing rod, the conductive gel allows it to flow to the ground in no time and prevents electrical hazards.
Usage:
The conductive gel provides an earth resistivity of 0.033 ohm-m. In semi-rocky and rocky areas where the soil does not have the moisture-retaining capacity, so conductive gel is used there as a ground enhancing compound to maintain the resistivity of the soil and also it maintains the moisture level. Thus this earth enhancing compound is used layer by layer along with back fill compound in semi rocky areas and for rocky areas, Electrogrip carbogen is prefered.
Advantages:
There are plenty of advantages of using carbogem as earth enhancing agent, they are
- Enhances the resistivity of the soil
- Offers resistivity of 0.033 ohm-m
- Anti-corrosive, which makes the longevity of the earthing product.Retain moisture to maintain a certain resistivity of the soil
